Apple Seeds visionOS 3 Developer Beta With New Spatial AI APIs
The beta introduces on-device spatial understanding APIs and a redesigned multitasking system for Vision Pro.
Apple has released the first developer beta of visionOS 3, headlined by a new set of spatial understanding APIs that let apps recognize real-world objects and surfaces without sending camera data off-device. Apple says the APIs are built on the same on-device models that power Apple Intelligence.
The beta also includes a redesigned multitasking system that lets users pin app windows to specific locations in a room, persisting across sessions. A public beta is expected in the coming weeks ahead of a wider release later this year.
